CranioSacral Therapy

One of the most important systems of the body is the Central Nervous System, as it controls and regulates all the other systems. Any therapy that accesses and treats the Central Nervous System is therefore going to have a very beneficial affect on the rest of the body.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle way of mobilising the cranial bones, spine and pelvis and all the membranes that lie underneath these structures. This light touch therapy can release deep tensions and restrictions in the body which, in turn, allow the body to relax and self-correct. It can be performed on any part of the body and is for any age group, in fact new born babies especially benefit from CST.

In a session a therapist will monitor the rhythm of the cerebral spinal fluid that flows the around the central nervous system by gently touching various parts of the body. By monitoring this fluid one can ascertain where to mobilise and release the tissues that are causing dysfunction. Then, using the same light pressure the therapist will manipulate and release these areas, to re-address balance in the nervous system and the body as a whole.
